Asking for a promotion is one of those things nobody really teaches you, like how to fold a fitted sheet or cancel plans without sounding like a monster. You know you should do it…eventually. You just don’t want to come off as greedy, needy, or the office version of someone who texts “wyd” at 2 a.m.
But, unfortunately, promotions don’t (usually) fall out of the sky. Most of the time, you’ve got to ask. And when you do it the right way — at the right time, with the right receipts — you don’t just look overly ambitious.
You look prepared. Professional. Like someone who knows their worth and isn’t afraid to say it out loud.
